What kind of world is it when an artist isn’t even being shown love from their own city, let alone local radio station?  Regardless of how fans and city folk may feel about a particular rapper, the stations usually have his/her back through it all.

This saying clearly doesn’t apply for Houston’s own Trae Da Truth, as word is spreading that radio station 97.9 the Box has put a hold on playing any music by him or any other songs that he has been featured on unless his verses are removed from the track entirely.

The reasoning behind the ban stems from the incident that occurred earlier this summer during his own Trae Day event where shots were fired off and six were injured.  Apparently, some believe that his music is a promotion of unruly behavior and that it is too violent to be heard within the community of Houston.

Oddly enough, it was Bill White, the mayor of Houston, who actually awarded the rapper with Trae Day in honor of his outstanding work within the community.

Trae may have lost in that, but it should only be shrugged off as he has a new baby to be happy for.

Even with the potential ban, the music must continue to flow as The Incredible Truth mixtape was recently released and Hip-Hop fans continue to wait on his next album, Tha Truth which is expected to hit the mainstream circuit in 2010.

Wale is yet another artist that has had to deal with hate in his own hometown as a local radio station had placed his material on the backburner although he has become one of D.C.’s most prominent voices in years.

Everyone and their momma has a show these days, literally.The mothers of T Pain, Lil Wayne and Ne-Yo are the latest ladies to be added to a lineup of television hosts.

Viewers will have a chance to watch Aliyah “Mama Pain” Najm,  H. Loraine Smith the mother of Ne-Yo and the infamous mother of Lil Wayne Jacida Carter a.k.a. Cida.

The ladies have an upcoming show titled “Dinner Table Discussions” where they will provide their clout and insight on current events, “important topics”, interviews and features.

According to the women, “ the aim is to create a show that will enhance their viewers “educationally, economically, socially and culturally,” by discussing current events, important topics, interviews and feature segments.”

Mama Pain described the upcoming project in a statement saying,

“Our vision is to be a premier talk show that delivers a creative and informative format that assists viewers in educating and solving challenging issues. There are situations in our communities, cities, states and even nationwide that people have made us aware of and they want to resolve the issues, but they just don’t know where to get help or how to properly handle certain issues.”

In addition to discussing “relevant topics”, Dinner Table Discussions will also provide solutions for young people as well.  Not exactly sure what kind of advice these ladies will be giving but I’m sure we’ll all be watching.

Dinner Table Discussions is scheduled to launch in 2010.

So maybe it wasn’t enough to continue to keep the legacy of rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur alive with post-death albums.  Now there are rumors circulating that the late rapper has a sex tape floating around the Internet.

During his growing success as a rapper, Shakur was quite the ladies man and even professed his overbearing love for the opposite sex.

Although his sexual endeavors may not have been chronicled extensively by the mainstream, a song by the name of “I Get Around” was an indicator that Shakur enjoyed what happened whether the lights were on or off.

Naughty By Nature’s own Treach was able to give an account of a particular example of the good old days with him and Tupac to WorldStarHipHop.

“I remember this one time we was in a hotel right, we was staying in the same room.  He had this little honey in the room and I had the camcorder and I went up to the room.  I was taping him tearing her ass up.  Then the door creaked and the n*gga got up like, ‘N**ga, what the f*ck you doing, you got it? Treach you got it on tape?  Don’t you ever be doing no sh*t like that’.  We watched the tape the next day.”

Two questions come up directly.  Why is a man videotaping his homeboy getting it in and why are they watching it together the next day?

No homo may not have existed back then, but there’s definitely a flag on the play for that one.

Although no album happens to be on the way like tomorrow, Shakurspeare is the upcoming release slated for June 16, which happens to be his 39^th birthday.  The project will contain some of his first songs that were recorded back in the late 80′s.

There is also still word on another documentary in the works.  Titled Tupac Assassination II: Reckoning, the original took a deep glimpse into the unsolved murder of the rapper, is rumored to drop in 2009 while the film Live 2 Tell, which he was written by Pac back in 1995, is still under debate with no news of a release date.

“You ever heard of the song “Pimp Slap” where I went after Suge Knight?  If I got issues, I go after a n*gga’s mother**kin head.”

Perception is everything and is the sole factor as to how people are viewed in life.  Whether in the work place or just out and about, the way a person chooses to carry his/herself is looked on as a spectator’s sport from those around that create their own deductions from what they believe they see.

As Snoop Dogg continues to promote his upcoming release Malice N Wonderland, there has been misrepresented perception as it pertains to a song titled “Protocol” where he raps such lyrics as:

“Gangstas don’t kiss, we get old and get rich.”

And

“We hit licks and gang bang/ You on some T-Pain sh*t.”

Of course initial perception is to draw a negative connotation from such words and so was the case as many were under the belief that such lyrics were going at Lil Wayne’s head.

Speaking on Shade 45′s Lip Service, Snoop addressed the false claims and added that he’s not one to throw subliminal shots.

“I’m not fin to shoot at your shoes or shoot at your spot where your baby momma at, I’m fin to take your mother**kin neck off.  I don’t have no problems with rappers, that was me speaking in general.  If a n**ga feel offended or feel froggish, leap mother**cka.”

Looked at, as being Uncle Snoop, he added that time has progressed, and he’s not at the same place to want to go at someone’s neck.

“I don’t ever make diss songs, I make hit songs.”

Snoop also offered a simple problem solver if such confusion ever arises again.

“When those feel that I’m directing the finger at them, come get at me.  I ain’t hard to get at, I’m everywhere.”

The Doggfather did state that there is only one thing that could possibly make him step back into the ring once again and battle in the ring.

“I’m so far in the game where if I was to get into a battle with a n*gga, he couldn’t f*ck with me just because of the longevity that I’ve been in the game.  It would only be exciting if it was a bad a*s fresh new n*gga or he was an old ass n*gga like me that’s still fresh.  Other than that, it wouldn’t make no sense.”

People are always looking for a reason to cause some type of hostility or tension.  It’s almost as though it has become a primal instinct.  Perception has been used for negativity as some choose to search for the bad before they can mentally conceive anything positive about another.

R.T. I love Houston! It’s filled with beautiful women, its warm. What could be better than that?

A.D. So tell us a little bit about your album. That’s what we’re here for. You’ve got Nicki Minaj….

R.T. I got Nicki Minaj! It was Jay-Z’s idea. I played the album for Jay-Z and he hopped on the record and he told me ‘you should put Nicki Minaj on the Shakin’ it for Daddy record.” And she just murdered it….knocked it out the park and I’m very, very excited about it.

A.D. Who else you got (on the record)?

R.T. I got Jay-Z, I got The Game on the record. I got Kid Kudi, I got Snoop Dogg, I got Estelle….and Jasmine Sullivan.

A.D. You’re going straight hip-hop on this one!

R.T. I felt like people didn’t understand how much of a hip-hop head I am and I grew up listening to Curtis Blow, Public Enemy, and N.W.A. and everything. So this time I really wanted to rep my hip-hop blood.

A.D. Do you have any favorite tracks?

R.T. Right now the Nicki Minaj is nuts cause it’s the newest one. The last two records that I finished with it were the Nicki Minaj and the Jay-Z (tracks). But I think my favorite song is this song called “Two Love Birds.” It’s about me and my lady.

A.D. Awww. What is gonna be your first single?

R.T. It’s called “Sex Therapy.”And the name of the album is called “Sex Therapy.” It just came out this week. Which is why I’m here and the album comes out December 15^th.

A.D. When can we be looking for a video?

R.T. I just finished the editing so it’ll be out next week.

R&B singer Nivea went into labor with Lil’ Wayne’s baby on today and is expected to be having a son! Nivea has three kids with ex-husband music producer and singer The Dream, while Lil’ Wayne has 3 kids; 1 girl with ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter of the Tiny and Toya Show, one boy with actress Lauren London who became pregnant around the same time as Nivea, as reported in the highly publicized double pregnancy on HipHopRX.com, and another boy by another former video model girlfriend. Now Nivea and Wayne will be adding to his family with the addition of a new son together!

The State V.S. Radric Davis could not have been a better title for Gucci Mane’s debut album.

His infamous run ins with the law have reached a boiling point and he’s currently in jail after being sentenced to 365 days behind bars. According to a rep for his label, Gucci was arrested Thursday and immediately taken to prison for violating his probation. Just last year Gucci found himself locked up this time for failing to perform over 600 court mandated community service hours.

In an interview this morning on 97.9 The Box, Rapper 50 Cent revealed to the Madd Hatta Morning Show that he may have ignited an old flame.

He admitted that his next video will feature actress Vivica Foxx. For those that don’t know, the two had a very nasty breakup that apparently ended with a restraining order against Vivica. Fifty admits now that he and Vivica have mended fences and are now friends.

When co-host Natae asked if he and Vivica were sexually involved, he vaguely answered by saying that they were not sexually involved….”on the set (of the video).” Well, I guess we know what THAT means.

Guess Fiddy had to go back to Vivica’s “Candy Shop” cause she couldn’t get enough of his “Magic Stick.” (Pun intended)
